All races are individual events, run at your own pace within the announced time limits, in limited autonomy. Limited autonomy means the ability of the participants to independently complete the distance between two food stations, both from nutritional, clothing and security point of view, while adapting to encountered or unforeseen problems (bad weather, physical problems, accidents, etc.).
This principle supposes, in particular, the following rules:
Race | MINIMUM AGE | MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE |
Ultra Trail 102K | 20 years | Mandatory (conditions below) |
Bucegi Trails 58K | 20 years | Mandatory (conditions below) |
Piatra Craiului Trails 44K | 18 years | Recommended (conditions below) |
Leaota Trails 36K | 18 years | Recommended (conditions below) |
Fundata Trails 23K | 16 years | Recommended (conditions below) |
Cheile Gradiștei Trails 6K | 14 years | Recommended (conditions below) |
Choosing the right race for your experience level and your actual ability as a runner is extremely important. We strongly recommend that runners honestly evaluate themselves against the time limits and conditions of each race.
Starting a race above your current level of training significantly increases the chances of DNF, as well as the increased risk of injury for both the athlete and the organizing teams: volunteers, staff, mountain rescuers. If you have any questions about your training level, please email before signing up here: [email protected]
